The Silver Trumpet Announces:

"Our Children Will Return"
By: Prophetess hilda arredondo
“At the same time, saith the Lord, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people.” Jeremiah 31:1 The first thing mentioned in this verse of scripture was not that God wanted to be the Lord of one person, but rather He wanted to be the God of the families of Israel. He is the same God of yesterday and today; nothing’s changed. He still wants to be the God of all the families because He loves the family unit. A family serving the Lord sends a strong message of faith to a lost and dying nation such as America. When families are torn apart by divorce, pornography, adultery, and alcohol, there is no witness for Christ. But, on the other hand, a strong and true Christian family is the hope and backbone of a city, state, and nation. In the above scripture God wanted to be recognized as the Lord of the families of Israel and wanted them to act as His people.
WHO IS LORD OVER THE HOME
Many times in America and in the church, God is not recognized as the LORD OF THE HOME. Instead, television, video games, pornography, alcohol, and drugs are the things recognized as LORD OF THE HOME. Why? These can become evils that rule the home instead of the Lord. Disobedient, rude children run the home, talking back to their parents (the spiritual heads), telling them what to do, what they want, and taking over the home. These homes are out of God's spiritual order. When a home is out of spiritual order then the blessings of God are hindered and blocked, just as the clogged arteries of the heart cut down the flow of blood and eventually cause a heart attack. The Christian family unit is the strong heart of America, pumping healthy blood into the very communities of our country. But because the spiritual order of the home is perverted by Dad NOT taking his place, letting the children run rampant with drugs, alcohol, porn, and other evils, we have the same trouble—clogged up spiritual arteries, pumping bad blood, blocking the flow of blessings from heaven above, causing the heart of America, (the family unit) to have heart attacks. If there is not a change very soon, one of these days the family unit of America will have a massive heart attack and die and be no more.
SEEDS OF REBELLION WILL SPROUT
Many times these same wayward children described above are sent to the church, hoping that someone can do something with the “seed of rebellion” that is out of control. As children grow up in the home without the disciplines of the Word of God, and the example of the Word, we begin to see the “Monsters” we have created. Many times, we learn the parents’ role according to Dr. X and his most recent book on raising children, or a self-esteem book with worldly principles of psychology instead of the Word of God. I don’t have anything against “self help books” but it is “The Book”—the Bible that will truly instruct us. We are flooded with this kind of teaching on modern day radio programs, television and in books, both secular and Christian. With all the books and programs we have today, we should have already turned all the families in America back to God. However, that is not the case. Instead, more broken homes and families continue to be destroyed. Our young children persist in having no respect for human life, becoming bloodthirsty murderers more and more each day.
GROSS DARKNESS COVERS THE PEOPLE
In Isaiah 60:1-2 it reads, “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people…” We are informed in this scripture that there will be a time that gross darkness will cover the people. Gross means “Much” of something, but among other definitions, it also means vulgar and obscene. I truly believe that the floods of gross (much) darkness coming through the filth of pornography, sexual immorality, murder, and rebellion of our nation (against the laws of God) are opening us up to the hour that Isaiah the prophet is speaking about in the above scripture. Yet, Isaiah further prophesied, “…but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.” I also truly believe that in the midst of all this confusion, darkness, and filth coming upon the family unit, that the “true church” will arise with the Joshua anointing. It will shine with the glory of God and many will turn to the Lord and be saved in this sad hour of darkness and hopelessness.
A SPECIAL FAMILY MAN NAMED JOSHUA
Most of us know Joshua as the popular man of the Bible who marched around Jericho seven times and took the city when the trumpets were blown. But there is something very special and greater about the man Joshua that made him the strong leader of the nation of Israel, and of his own home. He was a family man and the spiritual head of his family. He was going to follow the Lord, and so was his family. They were going to respect the Lord's commandments by becoming DOERS of them. His authority as Dad, the spiritual head, was not in question. There was no guessing about who was in charge. He instructed the spiritual family of God, as well as his own family, to fear the Lord and serve the Mighty God with all sincerity and faithfulness by getting rid of, and throwing away, the gods of idolatry. Today, the spirit of Joshua declares in this new wave of revival, “Get rid of the alcohol, drugs, pornography, foolishness, and sin out of your personal life, Dad, and also out of your home”. If yours is a Christian home, then the spiritual head (man or woman, whatever the case) has to declare and stand for righteousness. Our children cannot dictate to us their lifestyle of evil and sin. We cannot house evil just because they are our children. If we do, we are condoning sin and love our children more than we love our Lord—they’ve become the idolatry of our hearts!
CHOOSE YOU THIS DAY WHOM YE WILL SERVE
Joshua took that step and declared, “…if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15. He was simply saying, “If serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, or if you’re not willing to obey the Lord and follow His commandments, then decide today whom you are going to serve. But I, as the spiritual authority and Dad over this family, am making a decision for Christ in this home and we are going the way of the Word of God, which is the path of glorious light, peace, joy, and blessing.”
LETTING GO AND LETTING GOD
I’m sure many of you reading this booklet have been put to the same test as I have. Over the years, I’ve had to make painful decisions and stands concerning my four children and their involvement with the god's of this world. I can recall a situation with my only son, the apple of my eye, the son I dearly love. When he turned 15, the “Seeds of Rebellion” that I allowed to be planted into his heart began to surface and stare me in the face. At this time I was a young Christian and the only one saved in the family. Dad was not walking with Jesus and I was making a “Turn Around” for the Glory of God, desiring that he and the children receive Jesus and walk with Him. They were refusing and kicking hard against the pricks. I was constantly in prayer for them at that time. Nevertheless, my son was rebelling and one day I found a pornographic poster under his bed. I was shocked, to say the least, and could hardly believe that our son would be involved in such an evil. Righteous anger rose up over this matter and I confronted him with it. At that time our home was in the process of being cleansed up by the Holy Ghost of evil leavening influences. I not only wanted my life to glorify Jesus but I also wanted a home that would glorify the Lord. I was furious to think that he would bring such evil into our home. Just as Joshua declared to his household, I also had to declare the same to my son that day. “If it’s undesirable for you to serve the Lord in holiness in this home, then you need to make up your mind what you’re going to do, but as for me and my house we will serve the Lord and there will be none of that in this home.”
OUR HOME WAS SHAKEN BY THE LORD
That confrontation cost me something—my precious and only son, the apple of my eye; the son that God had blessed us with decided to NOT throw away his god. Rather, he left the river of life Jesus, his church, his family, and his home to go serve the gods of the Amorites of pornography, drugs, and alcohol, who were on the other side of the flood and in Egypt (the world). Jesus came that day and struck the lintel of our house and our home was shaken. Although it cost me a painful ripping away of my heart which I could barely stand, I could not compromise the work of the cross, the holiness, and blessing of God that was already evident in our home. Our son decided to leave us and go live his way and I had to let him go with a pain in my heart, that only another mother can understand and feel. This was such a painful experience that words cannot explain. It was like something had been torn and ripped away from me. I wept and prayed and could hardly sleep that first week. In my pain and agony, I went to the Lord about it. He spoke to me to let him go, not to the devil, but rather turn him over to Him; pray daily for his salvation and go on and serve Him in the work of the ministry.
CHILDREN CAN BREAK OUR HEARTS
For the next six years or so I hardly knew this son; sometimes I didn’t know whether he was dead or alive. He was running with the world’s crowd and many times in much danger, but I had to keep going and rejoicing in my Lord and continue to work in His Kingdom. One time he was brought to us during a church service (overdosed) which I didn’t know at the time. His eyes rolled back in his head and his whole body was shaking. He appeared to be out of his mind—I thought he was dying. The prayers of the saints and God's faithfulness brought him through and after a few days of nursing him back to health. He was gone again. He rarely came to see us and there was little or no contact, often for months at a time. As a mom I wanted to hold on to my son, to keep him close to me in safety, but the Lord again instructed me to pray for him daily, cover him with His blood, and reminded me, “I’ve got everything under control.” For some reason, moms want to camp out, sit, cry, and wait on their children, till the home completely lines up and every one of our children are walking righteously. We want everything to be in perfect running order so we can go on with what God has called us to do. What an awakening I had! The Lord said, “You cannot sit down on the job of prayer. You must go on without your son, and if necessary, go on without all four of your children.” He instructed me to pray faithfully for their salvation, put them in His care, pray for their safety (Psalm 91) and He would take care of the rest. What a tall order for us moms and dads who have birthed, loved, and raised those children—to let them go serve the gods of the Amorites, the gods on the other side of the flood, when they are not wanting to serve the Lord.
MAKING A STAND FOR CHRIST WILL COST US
Our decision to serve Christ as a family had divided our family. Yes, Church, sometimes our “Stand in Christ” will cost us our family in the beginning, but as we refuse to compromise and go on to serve Him, eventually, those children will get tired of the gods of the Amorites, the gods beyond the flood and come home to Jesus and their families. Our son eventually did exactly that and came home to Jesus, to us as his parents, and later to a special woman who became his wife. Now they have four little girls and one son that they are raising in church, and have planted them in a Christian school, making sure that the Word of God is being deposited into their little hearts. He is a hard working son and “Dad” who is serving in his church. Our God is faithful and surely His promise to me years before that He had “everything under control” has now come to pass. Today, many years later, we have not only a restored marriage, but a broken and scattered family has become a restored family of God in modern day America because of Jesus and His blood shed at Calvary.
PHARAOH, LET THE CHILDREN GO
When Moses went to Pharaoh to ask him to let the people go, Pharaoh responded, “…Go, serve the Lord your God: but who are they that shall go? In other words, “Go ahead and go; you are bent on going, but who is going with you?” Moses responded, “…We will go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds will we go…”Exodus 10:8-9 Moses said, “We are all breaking off the yokes of bondage and nothing that belongs to us is staying behind. We are not leaving behind our sons and our daughters and everything that belongs to us we are taking.” Then Pharaoh said, “Not so: go now ye that are men, and serve the Lord…” Exodus 10:11. In other words, Pharaoh said to them, “You’re not taking your sons and daughters; you older men can go, but not your children. I am going to keep that generation.” Well, Church, our God is still the same God of yesterday; He does not change, He will do for us what He did for them. Moses got stubborn, and the people with him got stubborn and declared, “Pharaoh, hear this, the God who set us free will also set our children free. They will not stay behind in bondage serving you and making your bricks, but they are coming with us.” Beloved, they did come out under the Mighty Hand of God. I say to you, God loves families and if you’re out of bondage, but your children are still in bondage to alcohol, drugs, evil music, and pornography, then stand your ground and declare to the devil, “They will not serve you, they are coming out to serve the living God”. And they will!
HIS PROMISE TO RESTORE WILL COME TO PASS
In Jeremiah 31:2 it reads, “Thus saith the Lord, The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.” God said to the generation of that time, “I will care for you as I cared for the families of Israel who escaped Egypt.” Today, God is saying the same to us, “Just as I cared for those families who left Egypt, I will care for you”. For long ago, God had made a covenant with Israel, saying, “I have loved you, O my people, with an everlasting love; with lovingkindness I have drawn you to me. I will rebuild your nation, O virgin of Israel: You again will be happy and dance merrily with the timbrels. Again you will plant your vineyards upon the mountains of Samaria and eat from your own gardens there.” Jeremiah 31:3-5. Because we have a covenant with better promises, He will do the same for us in modern day America; just trust Him. He will rebuild again and restore your families because of His loving kindness.
SOW IN TEARS, REAP IN JOY
In Psalms 126:5-6 it reads, “They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.” Over the years, many of us have sowed tears of prayer for our children who are not serving the Lord, backslidden, or whatever the situation, but our tears have watered the precious seed of our intercession and doubtless again, we will come with the sheaves of our salvation. Our children are leaving the land of the Amorites on the other side of the flood and Egypt, and they are coming home again to Jesus and to us.
A FULL TWENTY YEAR CIRCLE OF CELEBRATION
Just recently, my husband and I, with our four children and their children (17 of us) were in Lafayette, Louisiana celebrating seventeen (17) years of ministry. I wanted all the children to see our “humble beginnings” and also meet the family of God in South Louisiana who has faithfully stood with us over the years. (I’m also very thankful to all of you who came, including those who drove great distances, some from other states, to attend our celebration in Lafayette.) My stand for the salvation of my entire household really began in Lafayette and I was returning with my four children and their children, singing songs of joy. I came back to where I had stood alone, although Jesus was always with me. Twenty years later, I was making a full circle to the very same place and church, giving witness of Jesus Christ’s faithfulness—the salvation of my entire household. Our Lord has been gracious and merciful to the Arredondo family, and our witness is, “Prayer Changes Things”. We must not ever lose hope or give up on our children!
OUR CHILDREN WILL RETURN
As the watchman declared in Jeremiah 31:6-7, “For there shall be a day, that the watchmen upon the mount Ephraim shall cry, Arise ye, and let us go up to Zion unto the Lord our God. For thus saith the Lord; Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations: publish ye, praise ye, and say, O Lord, save thy people, the remnant of Israel.” Today, the modern day watchmen cry the same to us, “Come, remnant people, let us go up to Mount Zion; let us climb higher. The remnant people are the praying families who serve the Lord in holiness. He promises to turn your mourning into joy, comfort you, and make you rejoice from your sorrow.” I declare that the hour is upon us that many of the praying remnant’s children are coming home to Jesus and to their families.
